Hastings-born, Dirty Rocker is an independent rock ’n’ roll–inspired eyewear brand that merges fashion aesthetics with iconic music culture.
The idea started with Dan over a decade ago, shaped by his habit of never taking his sunglasses off and a lifelong obsession with music, and statement pieces. With Katie, his partner in crime, by his side, Dirty Rocker came to life.
A love letter to rock ’n’ roll, Dirty Rocker designs bold eyewear that channels the confidence of rock stars who never dressed quietly.
The design
All of our sunglasses are designed in-house by Dan, with vital creative input from Katie. Each collection begins with moodboarding around a central theme, followed by in-depth research into the rock and roll culture that inspires it.
Music and fashion sit at the centre of our design process. We explore classic frame shapes alongside modern concepts, drawing inspiration from archival eyewear, iconic musicians, and evolving trends. These references guide the development of each collection, shaping everything from silhouette to lens tint and detailing.
